Parting is Bittersweet

Dear St. Patrick's Church Family,

A few months ago, The Canon for Transition of the Diocese of Southern Ohio asked me to consider serving at St. Patrick's Church. I was finishing up an interim position at St. Mark's in Dayton and was glad to consider a position with St. Patrick's. It also helped that St. Patrick's would be a much shorter drive.

When I got to St. Patrick's in Lebanon, I enjoyed the love and warmth from the Parishioners. I was grateful that I was asked to serve this parish. My only regret is that we could not engage fully in ministries together primarily because of Covid-19.

Thank God for protecting us thus far and thank God to doctors and nurses who continue to give information to help us through this tough time. Let us continue to pray for all who have died and that their souls will rest in peace.

Leaving St. Patrick's is bittersweet. I will be leaving such a wonderful parish, and I am hoping that there is another great parish waiting for me.

Bunmi and I will continue to pray for you. Please pray for us.

Father John
