Interfaith Hospitality is Now Family Promise of Warren County
Interfaith has changed our name to better reflect our broad services, beyond housing, available to homeless families of Warren County. As the pandemic clears, we continue to house our families in local hotels. We await our church network to reopen their doors to our families later this year. Interfaith Hospitality remains the core of our organization.
The board of directors has wrestled with the name change for the past several years given the nearly 25 year history of Interfaith Hospitality in Warren County. To this end the board has developed a strategic vision that focuses on the growing number of homeless families and how Family Promise can grow our network to double our capacity to 10 families or more per week. It has been challenging to recruit new churches as weekly hosts but many are willing to engage as support churches. For example, our current church network consists of 12 host churches and over 24 support churches.
To that end, the board has focused on a permanent facility that will include staff offices, day center, and overnight rooms. While the trends of family homelessness were rising before the pandemic we anticipate an increase in homeless families as eviction moratoriums and government pandemic support expires. We are actively working to identify potential properties to build or remodel while remaining in Lebanon. We hope to have a major announcement in the coming weeks as we launch a capital campaign.
